Lesley, Thank you for opening up and sharing so much of your personal life. Your poems and stories have inspired me to keep writing. I thought the Ocean poem was beautiful. It took me back to summer time and beach trips with my family.
I enjoyed reading your portfolio Lesley. I liked your word choice on the ocean poem, and I know from having you in another class what a big endeavor purchasing your first house was. All while working and taking 3 classes! I am happy for you that you have your home, and I am sure you will enjoy looking back at your journal entries about the ups and downs of the entire process.
I loved your portfolio! You made it look so cute! I also appreciated that you wrote about buying a house. I felt like I could relate to that nervous feeling! Thank you for sharing!

Lesley, I really appreciated your writing pieces about the purchase of your new home. Nathan and I went through that just a year ago, and it is such a difficult, exciting, emotional, and stressful time! Your piece "I remember" really made me want to listen to your stories about each item that you remember. This would be a great prompt for students to generate writing ideas. They can list all the things they remember, and then write one or several stories about items on their list. Also, the paper choices you used to write on were very fun! Thank you for sharing! :)

It looks like poetry is a genre that you feel comfortable with. This is great because many people struggle with poetry. My favorite poem is your spring poem because of the descriptive words.
Congratulations on your new home. I could feel the stress and anxiety in each piece--which is good because this is voice. I hope your move went well and that you don't have too many boxes left to unpack. Hoping you have some time this summer to relax and get everything organized.
From your I remember poem you mention your son. Praying he is okay today!
I didn't see your picture book but maybe it is in Angel or on another blog post. I will keep looking.

Also, besides enjoying reading your poems, I like to see the background of paper on which you print your writing. The pattern of the paper reflects the content of your writing!
